How to look and feel amazing on Monday morning!

Nobody likes Monday mornings, least of all if you have had a heavy dose of party lifestyle at a weekend. So just how can you look your best on a Monday morning, if you have put your body through carnage at the weekend. Well fortunately there are many ways to ensure that when you arrive at work on a Monday morning, you hopefully arrive looking and feeling a bit fresher and ready to take on the day.
One of the best ways to actually look good on a Monday is to be feeling good. Unfortunately the only way to be feeling good is to actually look after your mind and body during the weekend. If you really want to look your best on a Monday, then unfortunately this really is the only way to give you and your body the best possible chance.
  • Sleep - Natures way to give your body time to rest, repair and prepare you for the week ahead. We all love to go out and enjoy ourselves at the weekends, often involving late nights and lack of sleep, but when it comes to looking good on a Monday, your body will thank you for that extra sleep you had at the weekend. If you have not slept properly during the weekend, then make sure you get some good sleep on Sunday night. Try going to bed an hour earlier than you normally would. Try to relax and unwind before going to bed. Reading is a good way to get your mind and body prepared for sleep or try having a herbal tea, or detox drink before going to bed.
  • Drink - Try to rehydrate your body as much as possible in the mid evening before going to bed on Sunday evening. This will help to detox your body, and also as any model will tell you, drinking water is great for your skin. Maybe try drinking a herbal tea of detox drink before bed. You will notice the difference!
  •  Cut down on alcohol and cigarettes. Stating the obvious, but alcohol and smoking are both bad for you and for your skin. Alcohol dehydrates the body along with many other negative side effects. Reducing your intake of cigarettes and alcohol will make you feel and look better at the beginning of the week. Even better, try not indulging in either and see what a difference it makes.
  • Clean & Moisturise - Essential to help detox and revitalise your skin overnight. Use a good facial cleaning product like Lancome Ultimate Cleaning Gel to clean away the dead skin cells, toxins and pollution from the weekend. Follow up with a good overnight moisturising product like Lab Series for Men Night Recovery Lotion, that will help to rejuvenate your skin and replenish essential minerals. Also use an eye cream like, that will help combat the signs of early aging!

Monday Morning

Nobody likes waking up on a Monday morning. If you followed our preparation advice however, hopefully when the alarm clock goes off on Monday morning you will already be feeling better and looking better. Try and wake up 15 minutes earlier than you normally would and give yourself time to properly prepare yourself for the day ahead.

  • Use a good facial cleaner - Using a good facial cleaning product is vital to clean your skin, removing oil and dead skin cells and vital in energising your face. We love Lab Series for Men Face Scrub. Use a small amount before shaving and feel the difference. It's amazing. Your skin will be squeaky clean and pores will be cleaner.  To maintain a youthful look, we find Zihr Clean unbeatable. It is an impressive Alpha Hydroxy face wash which helps make you look younger and will lift of dead surface skin cells to reveal new smoother looking skin.
  • Try a pre-shave oil - If you feel like your taking a cheese greater to your face when you shave, try a pre-shaving oil that will help smooth the ride.
  • Have a wet shave -Try having a shave in the shower. Not only will it soften your beard, but it will lead to a much smoother shave, and also if you do end up with any shaving nicks or cuts, then any bleeding should stop by the time you come out of the shower. Try King of Shaves PRO Shave Oil 50ml which delivers ultimate razor glide. It won't clog your razor and it contains vitamin E to help moisturise and keep your skin soft.
  • Eyes - Men are more prone to dark circles under the eyes, and to avoid looking like a panda on Monday morning, use a moisturising eye cream which will help tighten the skin around the eyes, and reduce puffiness and dark circles. We particularly are a fan of Anthony Logistics Eye Cream which contains green tea, caffeine, cucumber and shea butter. The green tea and caffeine  are great detoxing agent and help reduce puffiness and dark circles. Fine lines are reduced with the addition of Vitamin E and wheat protein.
  • Protect your face - A good daily moisturiser is one of the best ways to protect your face against the signs of aging and urban pollution. Try to use a moisturiser with a SPF (Sun Protection Factor) that will help to protect your skin against the damage from the sun's rays. Try Nickel Morning After Rescue Gel, an essential product to really wake up your skin. We also highly recommend Zirh Protect - Daily Face Moisturizer.zirhprotect.jpg Out of all the products our team tested, this was our favourite. Excellent skin protection and the cream was non greasy and also have a particularly youthful appearance.
  • Eat a Healthy breakfast - eating a healthy breakfast will give your body the energy it needs to support you throughout the morning. Try and have low GI foods that will give you even energy supply during the morning rather than high sugar foods that will give you an energy rush, but leave your body craving energy and more food by mid morning.
  • Smile -Not only will this make people more receptive to you, even if you are feeling rough, but smiling has been clinically proven to produce chemicals in the brain that help us to feel good. And when you smile at people, then chances are they will smile back at you, and that in turn will make you feel better. Use a good lip balm to keep your lips soft and avoid chapping. The best we tried was Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm.burtsbees.jpg This is an unbelievable product. It contains peppermint oil to give your lips that refreshing tingle, and coconut and sunflower oils to nourish and condition the lips. The beeswax helps seal in hydration. Best of all, Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is a natural product leaving no unpleasant taste of artificial chemicals on the lips that you can get with other lipbalms. It is their best selling product and no wonder why. You will love it!
